Assessment FAQs and Payment Policies
What are assessments?
Assessments are fees that cover APEX team members’ gymnastics meets, including registration and coaches’ fees. These fees are not included in APEX gymnastics team tuition.
When are assessments due?
Typically, assessments are required four times a year beginning in August/September, with other amountsdue in the fall, winter and spring. Families will receive an email with an invoice containing the individual amount due.
How much are assessments?
The amount due each year is determined by two factors: how much the registration and coaches’ fees cost each year and also how much fundraising has been completed, either as a whole or on an individual team level. Some gymnasts participate in so many fundraisers that their assessment costs are zero. If a family does not participate in fundraising, meet fees are variable each year.
What happens if a gymnast leaves the team?
If a gymnast leaves the team mid-season, the VGBC member is responsible for the assessment for the last quarter in which the gymnast was a member (i.e., if the gymnast leaves in November, they are responsible for the second quarter assessment).
What happens if an assessment is not paid?
If a gymnasts’ assessments are not paid within 10 days of the assessment due date, that gymnast will be unable to compete in any meet until payment or an arrangement for payment have been made with the VGBC treasurer.
